PRAYER MINISTRY TRAINING

80 Leaders throughout Honduras and Nicaragua gathered together from various religious communities, dioceses, and apostolates, to learn how to minster God’s healing love to the souls God entrusted to them. Priests, deacons, seminarians, religious brothers and sisters, and lay faithful were together as many parts of Christ’s one body.

The Arrival

This was the first event of San Damiano Ministries, and it was fitting to begin on August 11th, the feast of St. Clare of Assisi. She called the church of San Damiano home for most of her life.

The week began discussing the importance of encounter as the goal of prayer ministry, and that our ministry must flow from our own on-going encounter with God. The Lord filled our hearts with hope and joy as he inspired the group to dream big with him, and the emphasis on abiding with God at each moment made that seem all the more possible.

Everyone learned to hear from God for others in prayer, and how to help someone open their hearts to the Lord for healing. Additionally, toward the end of the week there was a beautiful time where we prayed for physical healing for one another. About a dozen people experienced physical healing, with many others experiencing God’s gentle gift of peace, or deep emotional healing.
